ABSTRACT: Clinical examination of 224 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus has been carried out. The role of hyperglycemia in the development of cardiovascular complications resulting from the disease was shown in the article. With pathomorphological study of pancreas carried out, vascular factor of insulin deficiency was determined. The article presents current methods of type 2 diabetes mellitus therapy.
